Chair:  Dr Sanjeev Rana

Dr. Sanjeev Rana is a Medical Director, Clinical Commissioner and GPwSI Dermatology

He graduated from the Imperial School of Medicine and Technology in 1995 and qualified as a General Practitioner in 1998. His works as  Dermatology GPwSI Dermatology in Essex.

He has completed his Diploma in Dermatology and Dermoscopy (Cardiff University) and runs a dermatology service.





Dr Robert Boyle

Dr Boyle is a paediatric allergist with a research programme focussed on the prevention of eczema and other allergic diseases. He trained in Melbourne where his PhD investigated mechanisms through which probiotics might prevent eczema, and most recently wrote a series of reports for the Food Standards Agency on the relationship between diet during pregnancy and infancy and allergic or autoimmune diseases. Dr Boyle works as joint Co-ordinating Editor for Cochrane Skin at the University of Nottingham, and is involved in the BEEP trial of emollients for preventing eczema and other allergic diseases. In this talk he will discuss the relationship between eczema and food allergy, explore some common myths and pitfalls in eczema management, and highlight new interventions for preventing and managing eczema.



Dr Joanna E Gach

Dr Joanna Gach is a full time Consultant Dermatologist working at the University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust and Birmingham Children’s Hospital. She qualified from a medical school in Lublin, Poland and undertook postgraduate medical training in the UK. This was closely followed by speciality training in Dermatology in the West Midlands. Her areas of specialist interest include Paediatric Dermatology and recalcitrant inflammatory dermatoses. 




Dr Finbar McGrady

Dr McGrady is currently a Clinical Teaching Fellow in the Centre for Medical Education at QUB; GPwSI Dermatology, Southern Trust, NI; Sessional GP and Clinical Lead for Practice Based learning at the Federation Support unit.

He has been involved in reform of elective dermatology services in Northern Ireland and establishment of a photo triage service.

Dr McGrady established GP Dermoscopy NI in 2014 and run educational events on dermoscopy and lesion recognition. He was awarded best Poster Prize at World Congress of Dermoscopy in Thessaloniki, Greece in June, 2018 for his work in education of GPs in lesion recognition.



Dr Manjit Kaur

Having completed her undergraduate training at the University of Nottingham with honors in 2000, Dr Kaur completed her general medical training in the West Midlands and obtained membership of the Royal College of Physicians, London in 2003.

Since then she has exclusively worked in Dermatology and obtained full accreditation as a Consultant Dermatologist in 2008. She has worked as an honorary consultant at the world famous ‘St Johns Institute of Dermatology’ in London where she nurtured an interest in hair and scalp disorders, medical dermatology and photodermatology. Since 2009, she has worked as a Consultant Dermatologist at Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust and has been committed to improving care for patients – especially those with hair disease.

She has authored 28 publications in peer reviewed journals and regularly participates in clinical research She is a founding member of the British Hair and Nail Society, and taught on the inaugural training course. She runs a specialist tertiary referral alopecia service, helped write patient information on hair disease for the British Association of Dermatologists, and has written the specialist registrar national training curriculum for hair disease.

She regularly lectures on dermatology topics locally, regionally snd nationally. She works privately at Spire Little Aston Hospital in Sutton Coldfield, and the London Hair and Skin Clinic.



Dr Anita Takwale

Dr Anita Takwale is a Consultant Dermatologist and Clinical Lead for the department of dermatology in Gloucestershire. She is the President of the British Hair and Nail Society and the South West UK regional expert for hair and nail disorders. Her clinics provide a secondary and tertiary hair and nails referral service.

Outside of the UK, she is a member of the European Hair Research Society and European Nail society, has worked on hair cases in Australia and nail cases in Belgium . She has attended World Congresses for Hair Research in Japan and Barcelona as well as the International Congress on Nails in Athens. She regularly reviews hair and nail papers and has published articles discussing hair loss and nail pathology in multiple peer reviewed journals. Frequently, Dr Takwale is invited to speak at various events on a regional, national, and international stage.


Dr Bernard Ho

Dr Bernard Ho is currently a Clinical Fellow in Dermatology and Lymphovascular Medicine at St George’s University Hospital based in Tooting, London.

He is a recipient of the World Congress of Dermatology Trainee Scholarship and Royal Society of Medicine Dermatology Section Registrar’s Prize. He has also attended and presented at various international and national Dermatology conferences. He is currently the President-Elect of the RSM Trainees Section and a serving member of the St George’s Dermatology Patient Panel.



Dr Naomi Kemp

Naomi is a GP and GPwER in South London. In 2005 she established the Southwark Community Dermatology Service and its later iterations with GP, CCG and local hospital colleagues. Believing that skin problems have a huge impact and that dermatology is endlessly interesting, Naomi’s passion is for colleagues and their patients to manage skin conditions confidently. Naomi has been a tutor and lecturer in Dermatology for GPs and other HCP from 2005. She is an enthusiast of dermoscopy for both lesion management and benign conditions. She is an RCGP GPwER accreditation assessor and PCDS executive member. She is member of local Dermatology Pathways groups contributing a primary care perspective of local CCG/ secondary care formularies and Dermatology guidelines.  When not working Naomi might be found kayaking down a river, on a ski slope with family and friends or helping a community build the first straw-bale church building in the UK.
